UNKNOWN STRING WANTED all over the place after editing tech_names and unit_names.csv

Self-propelled Artillery is written as SA Art. on the tech tree, so I wanna change it to SP Art.

But just by opening tech_names.csv with notepad or wordpad and saving (without editing anything) would cause a bunch of UNKNOWN STRING WANTED and TECH_NO_NAME to appear.

I could edit those files before without problems. The only changes I made to my computer recently is to update DH to the beta patch and switching system locale to Japan. Dunno if those are the cause or not?

There is nothing changed in CSV files format store/read in any version of Darkest Hour, so the problem you have is probably related to the format in which you save those files. Alternatively you can try the free Notepad++ program for editing of the files

If you used OpenOffice/imported the CSV incorrectly, it will output the save in incorrect format. Make sure to remove any text delimiters, set the field delimiter to ";", uncheck the comma as a field delimiter and select ";" semicolon on import.

I got Notepadd++ and it worked. Now I can mod again. Thanx a lot ^^
