If I play a round of, let's say Age of Imperialism, and it shall end in 1914, but it continues. If I lay in events which kick off around, let's say 1920, does it kick off 1920 or doesn't it kick off at all?
I'm betting the latter, but I aren't sure.

They will fire. I added such events in order to notice those who do not want to play further when no new monarchs, leaders and events happens.
