So it just seems weird that some (specific) schemes are unlocked by default but then some other, even more generalised scheme actions are locked behind perks unlocking system. How is it sway/seduce/romance are free for all rulers but the simple act of 'befriend' requires unlocking?
Or kidnapping? Does a king have no idea on how to even ORDER a kidnapping if he isn't "in the lifestyle" ? Or we're unable, as rulers, to even THINK of coming up with the idea of an alliance without marriage unless we have a "diplomatic lifestyle" ? Do I need to live as a steward to come up with the genius idea of...demanding payment for hooks? Almost all schemes are just so basic any ruler should be capable of doing them without spending years "in the lifestyle". It is bonkers. I'm surprised the hook system itself wasn't locked behind intrigue lifestyles!
I suggest we unlock more schemes for general use and the perks provide bonuses to make them better. What this will reflect is someone that DOES focus on diplomacy will just simply be better at diplomatic schemes, for example. This is already a thing, by the way, with respect to seducer tree enhancing seduction schemes and gallant enhancing romance/eloping schemes.
This will resolve the inconsistent distribution of what schemes are and what aren't available.
Edit: Also while we're at it, let's unlock more events so we have a small chance of gaining flat exp gains of other lifestyles we're NOT focusing on. Just because I'm not in a military lifestyle doesn't mean I won't eventually earn some military experience during times of conflict.
