Unobtainable Achievements (Windows)

I noticed a few achievements like Council of Elders and A Tad Too Late, haven't popped for me and did a little research where I stumbled on a list of 15 unobtainable achievements (link below) in the game. What's the story on this? Is there work being done to address it?

Stellaris (Windows) Achievements

Full list of all 191 Stellaris (Windows) achievements worth 5,155 gamerscore. It takes around 300-500 hours to unlock all of the achievements in the base game.

It's possible some achievements are bugged since Galactic Paragons came out, but 15 being unobtainable sounds like a lot.

That's almost 10% of all achievements.

It's possible, but this is the first anyone's ever mentioned that many being bugged. I wouldn't trust that random website just because they have a sentence about it at the bottom of their bot-generated page.

Bot-generated page? What do you mean?

It's TrueAchievements which links people's Xbox gamertags and tracks achievement completions and progress. I think I've been on that website for nearly 15 years and haven't noticed anything funky about about it.

But, their list caught my eye since I've had issues with 9 of those achievements from the list popping when I should have been getting them such as the 2 I originally mentioned.
 
So, from the list these are the Xbox achievements that haven't popped for me, has anyone else gotten them? It appears people have been getting them on the Steam version of the game though.

Some of them are pretty clear cut like the Council of Elders and Dawn of a Million Souls so I figure more people should have it from the global tracking that the Xbox App provides.


  • With Interest
    As a Payback empire, finish what you started. Gain victory over MSI using the special Payback CB.
  • Unshackled
    As a Broken Shackles empire, eradicate slavery in the galaxy, including on Pre-FTL worlds.

Do you have examples? As far as we're aware all achievements should be possible, though some are harder than intended. (Like defeating the Crystal Kraken, which tends to destroy the colony from Collateral Damage before you can defeat it. There's a fix for that in 3.9, but it's still technically possible if there are enough bodies on the planet.)

that was the exact one I was thinking about, honestly forgot about 3.9 change.

What about the 15 listed on Trueachievements for the Windows version of the game? 11 out of the 15 I haven't been able to get and it appears no one else has either on the Xbox Gamepass version.

There are plenty of people (myself included) who have every achievement on the PC version.

It’s possible some are bugged in the current version, but this website appears to have made up the “15 are unobtainable” number.

When you say PC version are you talking about Steam version or the Xbox Gamepass/Windows version?

I only keep asking the question to see if I need to stop trying to go for certain achievements due to bugs or some overall issue, at this point I don't know what to trust whether it's Trueachievements or this forum.

I am on steam and i really have only with two achievements problems, which is to be the Room for desert achievement, because of the terravore swarm gets changed into the devouring swarm civic after start of the game. The other is the FotD achievement, coz my planet gets destroyed with the killer meteorite no matter what i do as counter messure. But the last one is only kind of annoyance, coz your home planet gets killed.

What more do y’all need from me? I gave examples of 11 achievements not popping for me and all are on a list that an achievement tracking website has deemed unobtainable. I only came here to ask if it’s a known issue or what.

I don’t think it’s too far fetched that I’m skeptical (but still appreciative of folks trying to help) of some of the comments here where there were no solutions or answers given just that it’s a “random website” and to disregard it….still doesn’t change the fact that for me 11 have been unobtainable on the Xbox GamePass version of the game and it apparently is true for all Xbox GamePass players of the game.

Sorry if I offended anyone but just trying to earn them and enjoy the game.

I posted above 11 that haven’t been able to pop for me in multiple games but to concentrate on one for the sake of keeping things easy, Council of Elders. I’m probably 35+ games played since the leader revamp and have had all council members being 100+ but the achievement hasn’t popped for me or a friend (also on Xbox GamePass version of the game).

You say all, but was it a full council of 5? It doesn't need all council members 100+, it needs 5 council members 100+. Which will be your maximum at the time, granted, but if you have 3 or 4 council members at 100+ it doesn't make any difference whether that's your full council or not, it still isn't 5.

Yep, 5 council members 100+ in age. Multiple games, swapped council members out to others if it didn’t initially work, and started to not use the Named leaders that are either immortal, robots, etc that can start at advanced ages, and other things you can do.

Friend who plays on the Xbox GamePass version of the game as well can’t get it to pop either.
