Hello all. I generally play the game on the weekends. When I started playing the game last Friday, it automatically updated the game, after which it kept crashing and kicking me out of the game constantly; maybe every 5 minutes. I sent 10s of crash reports. After some research, I unistalled the game on Steam and deleted documents and Victoria 3 folders in Steamapps. Now, it doesn't even start the game.

I really need some help please.

EDIT: I tried running the game via Paradox Launcher but I cannot see the game on the launcher despite logging into my account.

You must have run the launcher from the desktop shortcut or Paradox launcher.exe, which is a standalone mode for users who do not want to run Steam. It does need a separate game installation if used that way, but this game was never ported to that platform. You'll need to run it from the PLAY button in your Steam Library instead.

As to your problem, Right click on victoria3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

The test with a new campaign with NO mods at all enabled, if it now starts.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/pdx_settings.json .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

this is completely ridiculous nobody should have to do this shit. We buy the game, we load it, then play it. Terrible development from paradox are the people to blame. Not anyones computer system and certainly nobody should have to jump through extra hoops to play a game they spent money on

Yes, wouldn't it be great if every game - indeed every app - worked perfectly on every possible combination of hardware, software and OS! Then I could retire.
