I'll post this here since it's a MP issue but if it gets no response I'll move it to the FAQ & Gen area:

during my last 3 MP games, playin as turkey, I received unasked for and unneeded bank loans.

That is, while making purchases ranging from buying new troops to building bailiffs and more commonly building fort upgrades, the computer would make the purchase then take a 200D loan. It would do this even though after making the purchase I should have had enough $ in the treasury to cover monthly expense - all times my monthly income was positive - I was takin in 1 or so D a month w/20-30D in the treasury (on average).

This happened 4 times in the 1st 15 or so years in one game and 5 times in the 1st 20 or so years in the 2nd game. In the 3rd game, Poland, who was played by a human, experienced the same occurances.

It seems that when I played turkey the 3rd game (the one w/pol's prob), I would always keep 100D or so in the treasury at all times. Pol reported that when his auto loans kicked in, he should have had enough $ in the treasury to cover the expense.

I have a threory, that for some reason some purchases are posted twice by the computer and thus the need to take the autoloan. The problem w/my theory is 1)it's unproven & 2) I have not ever been charged twice for any purchase (that is, after every purchas my treasury ends up where it's supposed to, orig bal - cost of 1 item = new balance). The only time this hasn't been the case is when I get the autoloan.

Anyone else ever run into this problem? Any ideas?

nope - using the 1.08 patch and IGC 2.1 - seems to be more stable than the 1.09 MP in my (1) experience...

To refresh your memory, it was that dreadfull 4 hour fluster cluck I played w/you and Aerelius and 2 others the 1st weekend 1.09 was released. haven't tried it since:p

Hey Stefan, WH,

I played in the games WH is referring to, and suspect the problem may be in the IGC actually and not the actual 1.08, however, I have also never experienced the problems WhiteHojo and Faruk (I think) had in the MPs we were playing. I HAVE experienced that since in a solo though it was isolated to one event in a 300 year game so I can't say it wasn't some potential expense increase that I missed.

Sorry to be a wet rag on 1.09, I'll shut-up about it since I think everyone already knows my opinion of it.

Well, no point in bringing it up then... old patches aren't supported by paradox =(

Anyway, the other info is a step in the right direction but I'm still stickin w/the old till paradox sends round the next patch - I'm patient.;)

After this wise point being brought to my attention, I did go back and do a search of the forums (which, admittedly, I should have done originally) and found that apparently this has not been fixed by any patch. I do not recall reading that it was ever addressed in the readme files for 1.08 or 1.09 as being fixed.

If you are aware that this has been fixed please let me know. B/c I, along w/others apparently are still having this problem. See above thread for example of 1.09 MP experience.

thanks for the time
