Hey all! If I no longer have access to the original files, how do I update a CK3 mod I originally uploaded to the Steam workshop years ago? I've tried everything and it's just creating a copy of the mod instead of updating the original. This is my mod, that I created. I have access to the description and everything on my Steam account. I don't have the original local files I used to make the mod, so I downloaded it from the workshop, modified them, and am now trying to get it to update the existing Workshop item instead of creating a new workshop item. At wit's end on this. Reddit/wiki have been unhelpful.

This may be something you already tried, but have you copied the steam workshop files to My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\mod? I seem to recall steam workshop just uses the mod number for the folder, so also rename the mod as needed?

I figured it out, thankfully. I had to do what you described (which I had already done) and also make sure the "remote file ID" in the .mod file matched the one I downloaded from Steam. (I had written a new, completely fresh .mod file). This whole process is bizarre and I hope some day they come up with a more user-friendly way to do it.
