Upgrades...

My INF has fought in russia for 1½ year now, they are making good progress, but being replaced by MEC. One problem, my INF has a lot of experiance, I am not sure how big impact that has on the fighting, but it should be huge. So, I want to upgrade my INF to MEC... Please add this feature!

It would probably be more correct, since historically there was no distinction between leg, motorised or mechanised infantry. Instead, divisions were gradually equipped with more and more trucks and armoured vehicles. Perhaps this could be done selectively, choosing which divisions to upgrade (at a higher cost than normal upgrades).

However, as to your specific problem: don't disband your infantry, they will always be useful and should be kept as the core of your army. Replacing the bulk of your fighting forces with mechanised infantry will only kill your TC and the weather restrictions you can attack in.
