The mod editor for some reason looks for .tga, apparently this is a known bug. So you need to make sure it looks for the image in the same path, but you need to use a .pga, and change it to .pga in the preview image text box.

If your upload is failing and you HAVN'T been trying to upload with a .tga preview image...then I don't know anymore to help you :(

It doesn't need to be in your mod folder as long as put the path to it in. Also I think it can be any format, I've uploaded both .png and .jpg as previews. When you upload the mod it will also upload the preview image if you have the correct path and file name.

I just meant that when you click the thing to open the folder, it will auto put you into your mods folder in appdata/roaming, so I find it easy to just throw the pics into there. And yeah, but it by default looks for .tga which is a bug that I think is throwing some people off.

it creates a tga file in the UI folder which is frustrating

Are you talking about the preview image you can attach when uploading though?
If so, you just need to make a .png (or.jpg) of the same name, and put it into the mods folder, and change the .tga extension to that.
If that's not what you're talking about at all, then I'm sorry for my confusion :p

It could be on Steams end...I'm not really sure how it works. Sometimes when I upload, it doesn't seem to register a success or failure for a few minutes, sometimes it's instant. And that is regardless of file size.

Thanks @Spectre9000 the tip with getting rid of tga helped. A bit stupid that dropdown allows only that extension, at least when you manually input something it works no problem. My clan buddies can now use our logo on their colonies :)

Getting the thumbnail preview to work for Steam is incredibly frustrating. Imma go play for the night, maybe revisit tomorrow. In the meanwhile, a few people have subscribed.

Guys the image has to be small, not full size, and is only the thumbnail.
Steam supports JPG but you have to overwrite the extension to the editor when you pick it up.

The file has to be in the folder where the mod is in %APPDATA%.

(already had couple of failed attempts today adding my mode, which was my first ever).

How small is small? 512x512, or smaller?
