There is a new US general in the 1.03 patch called Lyons. Since his startdate is 1861 I assume that this is supposed to be a civil war general.
However there were no US generals called Lyons. So I guess this is a spelling error and the general should be this guy
Nathaniel Lyon who save Missouri for the Union before he died at the battle of Wilson Creek in 1861. Lyon was born in 1818 so he wasn't exactly uncommonly young either.
