I was messing around with some AI Image Generators, trying to take some of the stock Victoria 3 event art images and using them as the base for a generated image depicting the same event, but in different parts of the world.

I figured I'd post my results here, to see if this is interesting enough to folks to be worth pursuing further, as a mod that replaces the event art based on which culture you play as.

Here is the base image I used - I grabbed it off the internet, we can probably get better results with a higher resolution base image?

I then used various prompts to try and generate a version of this image that would work for East Asia/Qing China specifically.

There are a few major limitations to what the AI can do. Faces will be blurry or twisted, text will be an absolute mess. But I do think the images above, at a glance, convey "Women marching for rights in East Asia" well enough, and with more flavor than the vanilla image.

So... what do you all think? Would you download a mod that uses these sort of AI generated images to give event art a little more variety? Or is it a stupid idea that should be buried (at least until the next generation of AI Image Generators blows us all away)?

The way to fix this, by the way - would be to "inpaint" each of the faces as a separate AI-generated image. You basically mask the bit of the image you want to generate fresh. I think AI generated images would be a great way to rapidly add flavour for mods etc.: I tried to train a .ckpt off some of the images already in V3 to capture the file, but sadly didn't really get something usable.

Pretty cool idea. For text and face, you can also try to have someone manually touch up the images. Ai is a good tool, in the hands of an artist, a great one.
