When engaging in combat some of the ships in my fleet get stuck (stop moving) before they get in range to attack. In some cases these stuck ships will cause other ships coming from behind them to get stuck ontop of these ships in a similar manner. All the ships in question have defensive ship computers, which i suspect has something to do with the issue as I haven't had any problems with ships prior to having defensive computers. Once the combat resolves the stuck ships go back to moving normally as if nothing happened.

DLC: N/A
Mods: N/A

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Take the fleet in the attached save game and use it to engage any station
2. The results may vary, sometimes almost all the ships get stuck and at other times barely any get stuck this seems to be related to the number of enemies engaged as the problem is at its worst when attacking single stations and is least noticeable during normal fleet combat.

Attached is a screenshot of the issue and the savegame in which it occurred.

I'm having a similar issue with one of my battleships failing to attack a mining drone station. As soon as it says hostile fleet engaged, it freezes. Only way to get it unstuck that I could find was to retreat. Also, going to the galaxy map view, it doesn't show an enemy fleet in the system at all and my science ship entered the system and analyzed debris left from the other mining drone that I had destroyed there and then surveyed the rest of the system even while the battleship was stil "engaged". In fact, the science ship flew right over the top of the mining station, so it seems like the game may be getting confused somehow about whether or not the enemy is actually there at all...

Same Problem for me, my Battleships just stop moving and fighing in a combat, that continues over a long time eg when the enemy got more and more reinforcement during a fight and the combat procedes through a whole sector. Thats how it looks after some time and fight:

This happens all the time when large fleets of short range vessels attack stations or ships that behave in a 'stand-off' fashion (FE stations & battlecruisers in particular).

If the 1st wave of short range ships is killed, the rest will simply not engage if they're out of range of the enemy units.
Thus the battle becomes a stalemate; the only solution is to pile in more fleets, or retreat and re-attack.

This makes late game combat kind of broken.

This is a pretty common bug and there are a few threads about it so far in this forum, can't see any dev responses yet though.

Best example is in this video from EE:

Totally game breaking.

Just had a game derailed because of this. My fleet refuses to attack enemies. Torpedo corvettes vs. the AI's fleet. First game ending bug, very sad.
