Okay, i need help on this. Whenever i try to click on multiplayer-valkyrienet, it will not connect to the server. The exact error message is: "Mainserver not reachable, please make sure you are connected to the internet." I was wondering if this means v-net is down, or if it is something wrong with my settings or computer. Also, i have a firewall, but everything i do, including giving full access for europa universalis and even shutting down the firewall doesn't work. I would appreciate some help with this. Also, i have a DSL connection that is always on, so i know i am always connected to the internet at all times, europa doesn't seem to realize that i am connected.

ignore the messages, Vnet is basicly retarded... it rarely works, and when it does.. it kicks you off after 5-10 years no matter how stable your connection is

Oh joy, i guess this means i have to set up Internet games the old fashioned internet hosting way. Thanks for the heads-up.

Are there any workable alternatives to VNet aside from personally hosting games? Just curious.

Well, in theory you could use any number of ways to connect (for instance, a lan-emulator like Khan), but this doesn't really make much sense - except perhaps if no one in the game has a static IP address. Even then, most dynamic IP addresses aren't very dynamic and won't change until you reboot or re-connect..

Since VNet is primarily for player matching- if that's your issue, you'd be better off just posting here a few hours before you want to start a game if VNet is down - Or join a clan and set up clan games at specific times and IP addresses.
