Steel is patching in a few lates things we've found and hopefully it will be soon. In the meantime, I (and perhaps some of the other now semi-idle dev team members) would like to say a few things to those anticipating the release:

1) Read the FAQ. Once you have finished installation, this will pop up (for most of you). If it does not, navigate to your mod-CORE directory in the Hearts of Iron folder and read it. There are some key conceptual changes in v0.7 and honestly we don't want to waste a lot of forum time explaining that which is in the FAQ. Things are, shall we say, different now.

2) Graphics - during installation you will be given a choice for typical, minimal, or custom installation. At this point it centers around the graphics package. Hopefully we'll expand the selection screen to include tick boxes where you can check off separate sections of the graphics according to your tastes/desires.

3) Read the FAQ. Because.... you are so excited to start in and have just started the game and you haven't read it because you closed the file after installation without reading and you're going to post in here, right? Wrong. Many of the graphics issues (I don't like this file, I hate that color, my Mom and Dad hate me) are addressed in the FAQ file.

One of the reasons I stress reading the FAQ is this - we are already well along on our v0.71 update and very excited about it. Honestly, it's hard for Steel to keep up with us at times. Other times he has to whip us to do things, but that's another story. Bottom line - we'd rather spend our time in development than answering things that are already in the FAQ.

oh yeah -

4) There will be a dedicated v0.7 discussion thread. Use it! Please do not start opening threads in the CORE forum that can be answered in the v0.7 thread. Also, in there you will find many, many answers to your problems. Suggest you also lend your time to helping other newbs or people who just don't read things they should and answer their questions as you learn the answers. The v0.7 discussion thread will be good for that. We live in the Age of Impatience (love to see a game with that title) and we need everyone's help (if you know what you're talking about).

As one of the dev team members, I hope you enjoy the v0.7 experience and that it breathes life into CORE for you a bit more. Rest assured, there are a lot of good - very good - things on tap for follow-up releases!

Yeah, what Phil said. :D
Especially about using the 0.7 discussion thread (when it goes up).

Other than that, I think people will be suitably impressed with 0.7. I'm finally getting a chance to actually play a game, and not be searching for bugs, text errors, bad event chains/triggers, and so on. It's a much different animal than any previous CORE version. I'm currently finding it challenging, with all the new events, AI tweaks, and Tech tree changes. My old tried and true strategems just don't work anymore. And that's a good thing BTW. ;)

So, get your strategies ready, cuz this ain't your daddy's CORE any more....

I can't wait. :D

In addition to what the others said here, I suggest you on the first game to put the clock in pause and to spend some time learning the new tech trees.
Now a lot of tech deactivates other ones, sometimes you have to choose between a tech that give you immediately advantages or another that allow you to research more tech for an overall greater, but longer and more expensive, advantages!
Other tech will affect the way you play, for example on the air-doctrine you can choose an extended training program for your pilots or a shortened one. That means a Quality Vs. Quantity style of playing.

Always quality!!!!!

I will do whatever you CORE dev team.I always test the tech tree.I have the game for quite a long period and once i even played WW3 against the "capitalist pigs",hehehe.
Just release it on time please.

Just letting everyone know that it will be very likely that the download link/s will be posted in these forums hours before it gets posted in CORE's website or anywhere else. So now you know where to look if you're dying to get this file asap.
