Steel is patching in a few lates things we've found and hopefully it will be soon. In the meantime, I (and perhaps some of the other now semi-idle dev team members) would like to say a few things to those anticipating the release:
1) Read the FAQ. Once you have finished installation, this will pop up (for most of you). If it does not, navigate to your mod-CORE directory in the Hearts of Iron folder and read it. There are some key conceptual changes in v0.7 and honestly we don't want to waste a lot of forum time explaining that which is in the FAQ. Things are, shall we say, different now.
2) Graphics - during installation you will be given a choice for typical, minimal, or custom installation. At this point it centers around the graphics package. Hopefully we'll expand the selection screen to include tick boxes where you can check off separate sections of the graphics according to your tastes/desires.
3) Read the FAQ. Because.... you are so excited to start in and have just started the game and you haven't read it because you closed the file after installation without reading and you're going to post in here, right? Wrong. Many of the graphics issues (I don't like this file, I hate that color, my Mom and Dad hate me) are addressed in the FAQ file.
One of the reasons I stress reading the FAQ is this - we are already well along on our v0.71 update and very excited about it. Honestly, it's hard for Steel to keep up with us at times. Other times he has to whip us to do things, but that's another story. Bottom line - we'd rather spend our time in development than answering things that are already in the FAQ.
oh yeah -
4) There will be a dedicated v0.7 discussion thread. Use it! Please do not start opening threads in the CORE forum that can be answered in the v0.7 thread. Also, in there you will find many, many answers to your problems. Suggest you also lend your time to helping other newbs or people who just don't read things they should and answer their questions as you learn the answers. The v0.7 discussion thread will be good for that. We live in the Age of Impatience (love to see a game with that title) and we need everyone's help (if you know what you're talking about).
As one of the dev team members, I hope you enjoy the v0.7 experience and that it breathes life into CORE for you a bit more. Rest assured, there are a lot of good - very good - things on tap for follow-up releases!
