I was having problems running the AGOT mod before, the game would get to the loading screen and crash. After consulting with ParadoxPlaza over CK2 crashing at the loading screen I followed their instructions:
  • Uninstall CK2
  • Uninstall and then reinstall Steam
  • Reinstall CK2
  • Add Steam and CK2 to the Windows 10 Firewall exclusions
  • Run a verify in Steam, and restarted Steam.
  • Showed the tech support person my system settings (current DxDiag.txt is attached below).
  • Added Steam and CK2 to the Windows 10 Firewall exclusions
Then the game worked. Well, the vanilla game worked anyway, but my interest was always in the AGOT mod.

After that, I redownloaded v1.8 and v1.9 of AGOT, and got this error message when trying to install it:

Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\Users\RichardWhereat\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II".
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified

I got this error with all three versions (v1.7.1, v1.8, and v1.9).

I have checked the mentioned directory, and it exists, but without anything in it. It was set to read-only, but I unticked that and tried again; same error.
I ran the installation file as administrator; same error.

I'm not sure what else I can do, and would appreciate any help you can give me.
