I was having problems running the AGOT mod before, the game would get to the loading screen and crash. After consulting with ParadoxPlaza over CK2 crashing at the loading screen I followed their instructions:
After that, I redownloaded v1.8 and v1.9 of AGOT, and got this error message when trying to install it:
Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\Users\RichardWhereat\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II".
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified
I got this error with all three versions (v1.7.1, v1.8, and v1.9).
I have checked the mentioned directory, and it exists, but without anything in it. It was set to read-only, but I unticked that and tried again; same error.
I ran the installation file as administrator; same error.
I'm not sure what else I can do, and would appreciate any help you can give me.
- Uninstall CK2
- Uninstall and then reinstall Steam
- Reinstall CK2
- Add Steam and CK2 to the Windows 10 Firewall exclusions
- Run a verify in Steam, and restarted Steam.
- Showed the tech support person my system settings (current DxDiag.txt is attached below).
- Added Steam and CK2 to the Windows 10 Firewall exclusions
