Vassals are a phenomenally annoying thing once you get past two or three. I can't have them in my alliance (because all slots are filled) so my allies immediately declare war on them. If they change religion on me, I have to cancel the vassalisation and suffer a penalty hit instead of them. And sometimes they even start with another religion than my own!

I know this game is no longer updated, but it would have been a great thing if

1) Vassals always accepted to join your alliance (so you basically could have any number of allied vassals)

2) Vassals always initially had the same religion as the country setting them free. Exception if the vassal is belonging to another culture group than the overlord.

3) If they change religion from the religion of the overlord, they also break the vassallisation and military access treaties (not just royal marriages and alliances).

I guess I'm hoping there are modders out there savvy enough to manipulate the executable... Damn I must love this old gem of a game! ;)

Not necessary--see here.

I think some of your suggestions have already been made, but it wouldn't hurt to re-post there.
