I'm playing DVIP with the More Kingdoms mod, and my vassals of the Kingdom of Ziyanids, Marinids, and Kafsids continuously leave my kingdom and become independent. This is unaccompanied by any sort of dialogue box or alert. Why is that?

Did you change primary title?

I forgot to save and reload one game and all my vassals were leaving without notification.

Are they your direct vassals?? ... vassals of your vassals don't give you a notification when they leave.

Unless you're using someone's event mod which can make vassals break free, there should be no cases left in DVIP with or without Addon where direct vassals go independent without notifying you.
Vassals' vassals will not notify you, as Tempest posted.

Note that this is only valid if you're playing as a christian, if you play as a muslim, jew, or pagan the rules may not necessarily apply. I have not touched AI only events at all so if there is one that makes vassals break free, that could be your cause if you're playing as a heathen.

That's also possible although they should not be able to appear by event if they already exist. If the title does not exist, a random muslim province in their area may be taken from its muslim owner to establish the new independent state there. Because of an ancient bug in the CK engine works, this will appear to be a county-level country at first (and allow itself to be vassalized), but on the first inheritance the proper level of kingdom will be set. This will then cause the country to break free from the country that had bug-vassalized it.

Oh! So you're saying that those kingdoms weren't meant to be vassalized at all? I guess it makes sense that you can't vassalize kingdoms... well, the thing is I've had them as my underlings for several kings already, they've converted and are good Catholic Berbers now.

My guess now is that they're reverting to kingdom status and unvassalizing themselves each time a new ruler appears- I need to check the dates. Up until now I didn't know that kingdoms can't be vassalized.
