I am sorry if this question has already been answered, but I am curious whether the game will handle various courtiers, advisors etc. in a more role-playing fashion (i.e. giving individuals various stats and tasks) - something akin to the great KOEI game of old - Genghis Khan - or even better, Romance of Three Kingdoms?

Btw, if the game will turn out as sort of Castles meet Europa Universalis meets Romance of Three Kingdoms, I will have felt as if I died and gone to heaven :D

That is a great combination. If CK mixes all the elements of those games it will be a very good game indeed.

I too was wondering about an advisor. In EU I & II we play the role of the advisor - and there are lots fo times I wish there was a popup telling me what the likely reaction to my actions would be (kinda like at the peace negotiation thing when it advises you that if you annex this country you will piss off some other countries, only with more detail).:)

Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking.

Having to deal with treachery, intrigues and power plays (in a limited form, of course) among your vassals and advisors could be a whole story in itself. Imagine the decision whom to place as the heads of your units, when you take into account not only their skills, but also loyalities or rivalries (e.g. two blokes trying to outdo each other on the battlefield, ignoring your orders and such) :)

Also what if you appoponted your cousin as army commander and he marches back to the Royal castle and crowns himself King?

I'd love it! (and behead him naturally :))

Behead him? You musn't be too lenient to traitors... my treacherous subjects will be racked, drawn, and quartered.

I would make another cousin Army commander and let them both fight it out. :)

Yeah, or better yet, amke yourself army commander and crush them, then try to find a loyal relative.

I remember in the Genghis Khan games they gave you choices of generals to send off to combat, and whether or not they were family affected their loyalty. Little touches like that will be great to see again.

You never can have too many blindings... :)

Yeah, they didn't have the ACB (American Council of the Blind) or the NFB (National Federation fo the Blind) back then to give you a hassle.:D
