My vassals are suddenly now able to wage war on each other even when all the Kingdom titles I hold are set under Medium Crown Authority or higher. These vassals are de jure subjects of these Kingdom titles so they shouldn't be able to do that. Actually, they weren't doing that before; and, I've been playing this game ever since it came out. They only started doing it after the recent patch. Did Patch 1.4 mess up the crown law settings?

No, 1.04 did not. Crown Laws Medium to Absolute still have "set_the_kings_peace = yes" modifier.

Yes, the modifier might read like that. But, that is not what is happening in my game.

As I said, all my Kingdom titles are under Medium Crown Authority or higher; yet, my de jure vassals are able to war with each other. Check out a thread in the Bug Reports. Some players have also found out that not only are vassals able to war with each other now but they are also not giving the correct amount of levies under the crown laws.

I think Patch 1.4 broke the crown law settings.

I'm noticing vassals in my kingdoms fighting each other, too. However, it seems to be dukes fighting with their own rebellious counts, as opposed to counts fighting counts or dukes fighting dukes. So it looks like vassals are actually launching successful plots more than my direct vassals fighting each other.

I was playing as Croatia when the patch came out. I had Croatia, Sicily and Africa under my belt all under Absolute Crown Authority; and, no inter-realm wars. When the patch was applied, my vassals began declaring claim wars on each other. I thought 'Maybe the patch broke existing saved games' so I began a new game, this time as Sweden. Now, I have Sweden and Finland under Medium Crown Authority and Norway under High Crown Authority; and, my vassals are warring on each other again.

It is definitely bugged. I just look it up in my game (haven't really played for a few days) and I can, as a vassal of the German Emperor, declare war on another duke of the HRE, although medium CA is active (I have a claim on Meißen).

So there is no question, if it is bugged or simply some strange occurrences with plots or events, it in deed is a bug. Paradox really has to fix the patch fast, waiting for 1.5 will not cut it, specially since this is not the only severe bug, that came with 1.4.

At first I wrote off threads like this as just flukes. However, now that I own Irland, Scotland, England, and France I am starting to notice fights within each. Just to make sure they were not fighting across kingdom borders I set authority to max. Sure enough they still fought each other. When you have 4 kingdoms all with max authority and the vassals are still fighting internally then there is definitely a problem.

I've noticed this too. Definitely bugged.

Me too some weird things happening under Crown Authority rules now. Vassals not giving troups that they are required to give at least 20% of or more. Not giving full taxes when they are within the threshold to give those taxes (I checked the files). Generally lower opinions of everyone in my court that liked me a lot more before the patch. I swear it's hard to be liked or like someone in this game except your closest kin you've given lands and titles to. -20 for being a foreigner should be removed from the game hell everyone is a foreigner to everybody else not in the same realm for jeebus sakes.

As for England i had same problem at Medium/High/Absolute Crown Authority. Before patch each of my vassals had one title now some of them has 3 duke title with severel counties. Soon they want my crown!

It's definitely bugged. I see my vassals gobbling up each others land within my kingdoms all the time.

If the min-levy thing got broken again as well, there is really no point in raising crown authority much at all now.

I tested it as the HRE, which I have high CA in 1066 and as duke of Savoie I couldn't declare war on other vassals withing the realm, even if I had the ducal CB claim. I could of course declare war on the emperor, my liege.

So are you all sure that you are not seeing vassals declare war on their lieges (so counts declaring wars on dukes) ?

Yes this is what is probably happening low level counts are not vassals of KINGS so it just looks like they are breaking the rules. Remember folks Kings vassals are DUKES and Dukes vassals are COUNTS and Counts vassals are mayors, bishops and barons and Mayors, Bishops and Barons vassals are PEASANTS and Peasants vassals are their CHILDREN and CHildrens vassals are thier pets and pets vassals are their poo hehe. ;)

Maybe it is a bug that comes from using 1.3 savegames with 1.4?

It is definitely bugged in my game and I'm a vassal myself, so it is not a bug with the AI. I can declare war against another vassal, regardless of the medium crown authority.
