Now I really, really, really like the way PI have built these foums and the layouts used (maybe I am just too used to them) :)

But I noticed that PI still uses vBulletin v3 for the foums, and was wondering if you have any plans to upgrade??

I am also a regular on the Football Manager forums at SI, and they just upgraded, and I have to say ... man does that new layout suck. I think they used the reasoning that v3 would not be supported anymore, and is thus worried that you guys will find it necessary to upgrade too.

So is a forum upgrade in the plans?? .. or are you happy (like me) with the current version??

I would hate to get a new layout that looks anything like what SI did with their forum, because I really, really like this one :)

PS: Did I mention that I really like this layout? :D

Yes we will be upgrading, in fact the upgrade was planned some time ago, but difficulties with the Hosting and software prevented it.

However it looks like Kallocain has slain most of those dragons.
Stay tuned for future announcements.

IIRC the forums have to be upgraded to the latest Version 3.7.4 -> 3.8.4 in Order to upgrade to v4 so this could be the reason that the whole uprade takes so long...

btw: does the Database Error from yesterday has something to do with it?

The test forum is working on a copy of the forum from a couple of months ago, so It should not affect this one in anyway.
