This is a small mod for AoD 1.02, based on the 'Very Emu' concept. It changes the difficulty levels around in the following fashion:
Very Easy -> Normal
Easy -> Emu (Hard without player penalties)
Normal -> Very Emu (Very Hard without player penalties)
Hard -> Hard
Very Hard -> Very Hard
There are two versions of the mod:
The first is the 'basic' edition - this should be compatible with any version of the game and any mod, as long as they do not adjust the difficulty in any way (which is unlikely to happen in most cases). It will change the difficulty settings, but they will have their old names (Normal will show up as Very Easy, Emu as Easy, Very Emu as Normal).
The second is the 'deluxe' edition - this is only known to be compatible with 1.02, as it changes the text.csv file. There is a far greater chance of the text.csv being changed in patches and mods; I'll update it as AoD is patched. This changes the difficulty setting names to the new ones, as seen below:
Installing the Mod
JSGME
JSGME is recommended for installation. You can skip to step 3 if you've already installed it.
1) Download JSGME from the developer's website.
2) Install JSGME, making sure to install it in the Arsenal of Democracy folder; it should be under C:/Program Files/Paradox Interactive/Arsenal of Democracy in most cases, although in 64-bit versions of Windows it will be under Program Files (x86) instead, and in some cases it may not be on the C drive.
3) Run JSGME (under Administrator mode, if your OS allows it), and let it create the MODS folder, then close it.
4) Go to C:/Program Files/Paradox Interactive/Arsenal of Democracy/MODS, and copy and paste the entire contents of the ZIP file into the folder.
5) Run JSGME (under Administrator mode again) to enable or disable the mod.
Direct installation
This is not recommended, as it will overwrite your vanilla files; you're advised to make a backup of them if you're going to do this (they're in X/db/difficulty.csv and X/config/text.csv where X is the AoD folder).
1) Backup files as necessary.
2) Open the ZIP file, and copy and paste the entire contents of the Very Emu folder within the ZIP file into the AoD folder (typically C:/Program Files/Paradox Interactive/Arsenal of Democracy).
