April 22nd, 1940. Launching my attack on the lowlands, I get a CTD. I restart the game, do my preperations again, and get another CTD. Strange as I wasn't doing anything unusual that could cause it to crash. After restarting a couple more times, I realise that the CTD only happens at my last preperation, planning a route through the Netherland with my smaller attack force. I don't pay it any mind and continue, only to get another CTD.

I've been doing a little bug testing, trying to work out exactly where the CTD happens; and this is where it gets odd. I can upload the save somewhere if you'd like to confirm:

The CTD only happens when attacking the province of Groningen in the Netherlands with any leader other than von Manstein, only when they are of general rank or higher.

What the hell? Why is this bug so specific, and why is it happening at all?

Ouch now that really stinks! Manstein is the man though maybe he is the preferred general for that province, well you know I am only kidding and hope it doesnt happen to me.
Now did you declare war on them first by chance? Just trying to think, because in my original game I stopped in July 1940 but I never attacked Netherlands when I took France, I even left Luxemberg. I just ran through Belgium and so I never had a CTD yet, knock on wood.
How is that Energy loss by the way? :p

Yes, I did declare war first because usually when I leave them they declare war when I'm knee deep in to France, meaning I have to devert manpower away from the front to deal with the rampaging hordes of the netherlands :D

The energy loss has been fine actually. The AI has been managing very well, however this may be because the AI has some sort of cheat in place where by it can't go below 0 energy; it just remains permanently on about 13.

@ ScarcticCG:

Hmm, I didnt have Netherlands attack me when I invaded France at all and I declared war on Belgium which had a higher relation with then Netherlands. I have noticed that the more you trade with a nation the relations increase. In my current new game its June 1935 and I refused to trade with the UK 3 times from previous year and my relations went from positive to negative 78 atm. France almost 100 in positive and I have 2 small trades. I dont recall trading resources giving better relations but its a cool concept, which I so far like.

The energy loss after I took out all the plants in my little temp fix showed most Allies gaining Energy on avg about 25 or more from 1933 to almost 1934 then France, UK, Italy, Japan then went to 0 for all resources for like months with no change except in money, supplies and oil but very minor losses, so I dont know if that is the AI cheat implemented or not but come 1935 they are spitting out some good resources except oil, that is still very low commodity for all nations, good I made friends with USA to get my oil stockpile, but I hope my temp fix will be an AI change in the coding not the revision the Devs did and I found.

@ JRHINDO - I agree they are like the Irish dam stubborn and hell good fighters! Thus CTD baby! :p

I just got ANOTHER CTD just I was about to encircle the maginott line. It was the 29th. The last auto save was the 1st. Words cannot convey how close I am to raging with the power of a thousand suns right now...

There seems to be some sort of leader related bug that causes the game to CTD when using them. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Well this is embarrasing...

I overwrote the save game a couple in game months after the invasion. Sorry:eek:o

:D

No problem

I have tried to do the same, but I can't obtain the error

I continue testing
