I decided to do a clean install for a CORE installation. After uninstalling, I attempted to reinstall HOI. However, I never make it past the AUTORUN. I hit install but the CD-ROM just spins endlessly unless I end the program. I followed all the recommendations in the self-help guide but no success. I thought that maybe it's my cd-rom drive but other discs work fine. Then I tried to install the disc on my 2nd desktop and laptop. The same thing happens. When I browse the HOI disc, everything is there but whenever I try to install, the installation program never gets started. Can a disc go bad? I haven't taken it from its case in about a month, when it last worked fine. Anyone have ANY suggestions? I dont think its the PC but here are the specs: P3 800; 256 ram, WIN XP, 15 GB free on HD, Direct X 8.1.........

there's another post a little down the page by camilo montoya (can't reinstall) that might have some suggestions, it addresses a similar problem, it may help
