Vic + Rev crash to desktop, always on the same game date

The game ran stable until today. Now it always crashes to desktop on April 13, 1909. The old autosave gives the same result. I reinstalled (in order)

I'm playing Japan in a grand campaign scenario. Not much is happening at the moment in the game, no tech is to be finished, I'm not in a war, no new units, nothing. I've tried about 10 times now, it always crashes.

During scenario load, an error message pops up, something about a line in events/usa.txt. I removed the line, error message is gone, but it still crashes on April 13. There is nothing usable in the debug file. Maybe there is some fixed event that should fire on that date but doesn't?

Any ideas?

Ok, it's not always the 13th. After a few more attempts, I got to the 18th or 19th before it crashed. Maybe it's a random event?
