Hey all, I had a heck of a lot of trouble of getting vicky and ricky to run on my pc which is a vista 64 bit version. I tried everything from deleting the video files to reinstalling all my graphics drivers and sound drivers.

That all didn't work...however I found a solution to playing this genuine game and many other old favourites of mine.

I virtualize an old version on my PC using a windows app called ''Virtual PC''.

You virtualize/emulate the operating system on your current windows and are able to play all sorts of old games you werent able to because of compatibility isues with vista.

What you'll need is.

Virtual PC 2007 SP1, and you'll need
Windows Virtual Server 2005, and...yes this is a biggie
a license of the windows you want to be virtualizing. In my case I had an old copy of Windows XP Pro and installed that one.

Now Vicky works perfectly! (except for one minor issue, and that is that I can't scroll down in the game....strange if u ask me, all the other sides go without a problem, I'll just use keyboard now)

Now installing all of this is no easy task and isn't for the lighthearted person. But if u want to get back in touch with these old games. Be sure to try it out sometime.

Now the dutch will rule the world once more! Vaaren met die oostindische boot!

Why would you need both Virtual PC or Virtual Server? I'd think it should be one or the other (and Virtual PC is probably better for games; IIRC Virtual Server doesn' virtualize a sound card).

Sounds like the same issue as the screen resolution hack has with higher vertical resolutions.
