Hey guys! I'm having an issue where whenever I try to launch the game from steam and the launcher, everything on my computer zooms in including the game, plus the game is not in fullscreen so I can't access the ingame settings. I know i can launch the game in the game files but I like to play with HPM on but without the launcher I don't know if I can. Anyone having the same issue or a fix?

Everything zooming in a bit is normal (for me); the game zooming in as well... isn't.
Going out on a wing here, might it be launching in safe mode?

I have and it wasn’t the issue
"Zooming in" ?
Sounds like some scaling or optimisation feature in Windows or the Steam 'game theatre' option..

Hmm..

I'd suggest to check the "Disable fullscreen optimisation" option when you rigth click the v2game.exe and victoria2.exe
inside the game files folder and select Properties and then the Compatibility (or similar) tab.

If that doesn't help, check options in your Windows settings and contact Paradox tech support.

My problem, unresearched by the way, was it taking 30 minutes to load the history files. So I created a shortcut on the desktop to v2game.exe and it's like a new game. Everything works and it's fast.

I will try that

I misdiagnosed the problem.

The first time you actually run the game is slow to start on the history files. It appears to be hung for a while and then suddenly takes off again. Subsequent starts are much quicker. Steam is immaterial to the process, or at least insignificant.

nothing to see here.gif
