Summary

Victoria 3 keeps crashing at random intervals (2 weeks - years)

Description

I have recently upgraded my PC to newer hardware and have since gotten an issue where the game keeps crashing after a couple of months. It also seems like at higher speed (5) the game feels like it crashes faster.

I have over 30 crashes over multiple days. I have tried lowering all graphical settings to the minimum and it still crashes. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game and it still crashes, even when passing the file integrity check. I have even changed my motherboard due to potential bios issues found with the last one online.

The game is currently unplayable on my end, as i have to relaunch the game every couple of minutes and cannot do ironman saves either.

Steps to reproduce

1. Launch the game on steam.
2. Resume game, or play and load manually a game from the main menu
3. Un-pause the game
4. Increase the speed, or not.
5. Game crashes to desktop and asks to submit error log.

You very likely have the CPU/bios hardware issue discussed here:

FIRST please check for an updated bios. Then please implement the “Intel Default” option in it, if present.

If that's not there or doesn't help, please go through the above post in detail.

Hopefully those steps will help you as they have others. Good luck!
