Victoria 3 on Mac, native or with crossover for better performance

Has anyone experienced if Victoria 3 runs better on Mac natively or with Crossover?

I have a MacBook Pro with M1 Max chip and the performance is more than modest. Hence the question of whether things would go better with crossover. Has anyone already had the experience?

Strictly speaking our games are not supported in VMs or emulators of any sort. Nor in fact on Apple Silicon Macs as yet; the devs have apparently indicated a native version will probably come out for this game at some point. But I doubt that for any older game.

I'm playing Vic 3 on my MacBook Air M1 as we speak - runs fine
