Since Victoria (the new Paradox game for those of you who do not know....and for some reason I believe that to be not very many people.) will encompass WWI some might ask what is the use for this mod to continue.

Well for several reasons, first Victoria is not coming until Christmas, a bit of a ways away.

Second we might give the good guys at Paradox a few good ideas on tech, events, etc. And if it is really good (and accurate) we may actually see some of our ideas appear in Victoria

Third why stop now when it has already started.

I am sure there might be more reasons but this is all I can come up with right now...except maybe Johan Elisson could get a job from Paradox if this mod is good enough. :D
(And yes this is a shameless attempt at to continue the mod.)

Well, a very important issue that you missed is that this mod will be about WW1, and WW1 only. :) Victoria is a game that stretches from 1810 to 1920, which means that less than 5 % of that game actually is WW1. Our mod is 100 % WW1. :D

Secondly, I will not quit working with the mod until it is finished and I hope the same for the rest of you guys!

/Johan

Nothing quite like 100% natural WWI, tis a better tasting fruit juice than when additives are added. Good to hear that this wonderful project will continue.

Victoria goes from 1810? It thought it was 1835...man those guys who were all whining about it should start in 1820 can stop now....

Oh, sorry, 1835 is correct, don't know from where I got 1810... :) Well, it still doesn't add up to a 100 % WW1. :D

A pretty funny thing is that the division types will be very similar to what we have decided to include in TGW, i.e. elite guards divisions and colonial divisions (we have colonial/militia as the same type). :)

Yeah I saw that, maybe the Paradox guys have been lurking in here.

Ideas: more ship types like battlecruisers and dreadnoughts or Colonial troops fast but weak and use little supplies for African Campiangns

this is the first mention of a indepentant colonial unit different from miltia. so i will believe what i will

(My god am i stubborn)

Maybe one of us is a spy working for Paradox....

...mind you, I haven't seen anyone posting on here wearing dark glasses, a brown overcoat and a trilby hat with a suitcase...

Just to end this goddamn talk about irishpony inventing the colonial divisions, I looked through the big thread.

Chech my OOBs on this page and you will find:
Code:
[...]
    landunit = {
        id = { type = 17111 id = 17 }
        name = "1.  [color=red][b]Colonial Division[/b][/color]"
        location = 1950
        division = {
            id = { type = 17111 id = 18 }
            name = "1. [color=red][b]Colonial Division[/b][/color]"
            strength = 100
            type = [color=red][b]militia[/b][/color]
        }
    }
Enough said.

And this is surely not the first time we mention it. I'm sure that drbolo has mentioned it before that.

And well, if you think that we have separated colonial and militia, you are wrong. So no royalty to you...

I think Elisson said sometime this summer...but when it gets done would probably be the best answer. And don't forget to make some suggestions, no matter how trivial.

Irishpony: Yes, you obviously can push his buttons. I would like to ask you not to do so, as his buttons affect more than one person.

Allenby: You haven't seen this person simply because they are a spy. If you have ever seen any spy movies, the spy always lurks in the next room over, listening with an electronic ear. We should check the AAR forum...

e80e80: The ETA on this is a couple on months at least. Lots of work to be done.
