Victoria Crashing!!

Ok I've tried everything that has ever been written on this discussion board about Victoria crashing during games. Its still happening. It seems like everytime I do something tough(like making Sardinia into a great power)the system crashes. I know I should save the game all the time but sometimes you get so into and forget. So i would just like to know what I could do to at least minimize crashing. My compter isnt old either

regarding the forgetting to save, that is what Autosave is for.
