I purchased Victoria 3 for Mac today and I was very excited to play it, however I am having a problem launching the game. As soon as I press the 'PLAY' button in the Victoria 3 launcher window, the game instantly crashes and I get the following message:

I've tried reinstalling the game and verifying the integrity of the game files to no avail.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Nicholas

Same issue here as well (running 12.6.1 Monterey), except I can get it to launch but it will crash immediately when I go to start any kind of new game

Have the exact same problem. Once I choose country and start the game it instantly crashes. Older IMac, 3,4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 GB. MacOS Catalina v 10.15.7

Had an issue preupdate and now still with MacOS Ventura 13.0 It doesn't crash on startup but rather every 2-4 hrs or so. Usually towards the shorter end

was this ever fixed?

If your Mac only has an Intel video system, then that is not supported hardware for this game and it will never run on it, I'm sorry.

Same here with an M2 PRO Mac, that runs everything pretty well. What can I expect?

This is frustrating, why say it's compatible when it's not?
A Windows error about a C++ Visual Framework on a Mac is embarrassing

It does say "IF you are using Windows ....".

That is not at all the same issue discussed in this thread, which affects only Intel CPU Macs with Intel video systems. AND the thread is from over a year ago, a lot has changed since then.

Please make a new thread with full problem history and description, thanks.
