How do VP's get awarded? I don't necessarily want a specific table of values (although that would be nice) but at least some general guidance.

Especially, how do I get diplomatic VP's? The starting screen says 'for creating alliances'. Does that mean that if I create an alliance, break it, and then create it again, I will end up improving my VP's (accepting there may be some penalties in the gameplay if I do). Are there any VP's for Royal Marriages? Any for having lots of good relationship scores? Any for vassalisation or diplomatic annexation? etc.

Austria and Spain as computer opponents seem to get huge numbers of diplpmatic VP's - how are they doing it?

I'm fairly new to the game. Have read Huszics FAQs and most of the recent threads on this forum. Can't see anything relevant - sorry if I've missed it somewhere.

take a peak at the FAQ beat page at my site.

Thanks Huszics, it's a fair cop, I didn't look at the beta page because it said 'not for newbies' and I am.

For anybody that's looked at this thread, the answer is: VP's for making alliances, equal negative VP's for breaking them
VP's for RM's, worse negative VP's for breaking them
VP's for 'offering vassalisation' (presumably successfully?), less negative VP's for DOW on vassal.

But I can't see any mention of the peace VP's that show on the Military VP page - is it only when I offer peace, or also when I accept? Do I get any VP's for buying off some irritating minor by giving him 250 to go away?
