Vista crash

well, i got the game, it loads, but i never get to see the main menu because the game will crash right after the game finishes loading. i heard that downloading the service pack helps, but i dont have any place where i can back up my files, and I dont want to chance it (unless some others say its safe to install without backing the files up). is there anything i can do? i tried compatability modes and such.

Have you patched the game to 1.1? See the CRASH sticky thread above, try everything in there.

Yes, and no luck . Using vista 64 bit. I tried everything including the compatability. I cant play untill the next patch I guess.

I would ask for a refund but I would just end up buying it again when its fixed. Great game for the amount that I can play, that is.

well, I got the game to work, but is there any way to stop the crashess when you change the starting game year?

Patch 1.2 allready installed ? Solved the the Bookmark trouble for me.
