Every time I start up Victoria (Revolutions) a friendly little window comes up and tells me that "Victoria has stopped working" and "A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly." and so on and so forth. The screen does not turn black or anything. I see the loading cursor and then it tries to solve the problem but never does. Has anyone encounted this error before and how do I fix it if it is possible. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate.

Thanks for the overwhelming response....
Anyway I solved the problem. Turns out my resolution was set so that either my graphics card or monitor wasn't capable of displaying the resolution I set in the victoria settings (despite having previously run vitoria under that resolution with the same hardware). So Vista didn't let me start up because of that..... Just in case anyone has the same problem as me. ;)

Thanks, that has come in real handy. :)

I would add that you should run the Victoria Settings program as an Administrator, when I ran it normally the settings did not seem to write to disk.

I have had additional problems with Victoria, but those appear to be mainly a graphics driver problem. I had the latest beta drivers running, which made everything run fine, except my computer would spontaneously power down. I went back to the latest WHQL drivers, and the powering down stopped, but they keep crashing now.
