Hullo,
I played my first MP HOI game last night on vnet and I can say that it was the best HOI game I have played thus far eve if it was really short.
The set-up was this HOI 1.03b
1939 Scenario
Vonsson = France
Gilias = Germany
First Phase
The game began with me re organising my units upon my ortodox lines, 4 and 8 division armies of one type of unit. I also collected all the French armoured units and motorised units together under the able leadership of the promoted Field Marshal De Gaulle. The weak French Air Force was mustered into one effective unit.
When all had been organised I left shadow forces to deal with any possible Itallian attack and any early German attack through Belgium. The rest of my forces were stationed in Strasbourg and Colmar.
I soon noticed the Gilias had Moved too many of hs forces eastward to fight the Poles, only 2 corps were left defending Saarbruken. The order was given to attack while we had the chance. The battle was reasonably tough but out massve numerical advantage and the presence of our entire armoured forces told and we won.
The French General staff could not believe it when told that Koln and Frankfurt had been left undefended, the attack on Frankfurt would be made as soon as possible with De Gaulle's motorised forces while 8 infantry would follow behind, with another 8 taking Koln. The Germans counter attacked in Frankfurt but were repulsed by the existing forces and 8 division reforcement from Saarbruken. With this success our attacking forces were weakend but so were the Germans.

Intelligence reported that a large army was floating around essen province but none were available to defend provinces of Munster or Wilhelmshaven. De Gaulle and his now poorly organised forces were charged with surrounding the Germans (who we wentually found to number about 9 divisions) in essen by taking munster. The occupation was a success, my detestable cavalry who I was thinking of disbanding were ordered to make for munster and then take as much of northern Germany as possible.
Gilias made his last attempt to save the situation in the west during this first phase of the war, he attacked my 16 divisions in Frankfurt with troops from essen and erfurt. I quickly rushed another 8 divisions to the scene, the battle intself was very fierce with the German qualitative advantage very nearly breaking the back of my defences. We did however win, inflicting heavy losses on the Germans.

At the end of what term the "first phase" the date being October 8, France controlled Saarbruken, Wilhelmshaven, Frankfurt, Munster and Koln. I am not sure about situation in east aginst poland but I think Gilias was beating the poles quite easily. Perhaps Gilias can add somthing as well?
I will do second phase soon also I wnt to upload pictures but have to sort out connection to my free web space.
Cheers, Vonsson
