kingdom of Burgundy

only yesterday I found out there's a kingdom of Burgundy in the game,

however,

shouldn't the COA be the Burgundy COA used by Jean sans peur (so the COA used in EU2)?

This is also related to the provinces controlled by the kingdom of Burgundy (include the low countries Brugge, Gent, etc.),

the duke of Burgundy refused to be crowned king as his power and lands were still too few (not strong enough to hold back the German and French king),

so including the low countries (so the later COA) seems to be more logical (used for EU2),

please also give the low countries a kingdom to be formed ;) :eek:o

Kingdom of Burgundy is not the same as the later Valois Duchy of Burgundy. KoB was located in modern Provence and western Switzerland.

:eek:o sorry then,

but the Valois Duchy in the later years could also be considered to be a kingdom,

any chance of this being added?

How will the Burgundy house survive the translation to EU2

The Valois Duchy would just be an independent duchy in CK terms. Philip the Good actually was trying to get a royal crown (of Lotharingia) from Emperor Maximilian, but was refused. So it wasn't on the same standing as the kingdoms. My guess is that in conversion to EU2, Burgundy will be transferred just fine as an independent realm.

the burgundian duke Philips the good signed the treaty of Troyes in 1420 with the English, forcing the Burgundian dukes to stay out of court matters in France and making them independent, but abstaining from claiming the French crown,

until then the Burgundian dukes always had royal ambitions, from then on they were working on an independent state between France and Germany,

why shouldn't we call it a kingdom (if there are enough provinces under control?) :)

Because royal titles didn't grow on trees. You couldn't just grab a piece of land and call yourself king. You had to be properly crowned before anyone would recognize you. ;)

Which is why the dukes of Burgundy didn't just claim a royal title off the bat, they tried to get one that was historically available in the area.

Solmyr is right, and it's the intended way. :)

This is WAD.
