I was playing BYZ and was allied with the OE, MAM and some other countries. The alliance declares war on ALB and I join. After a while it declares war on VEN as well, but I refuse to join and I'm booted from the alliance.
Now I join VEN's alliance and war is declared on my old alliance. I have a strong army in Thrace, but when the OE attacks the province my army is put in the background and the OE start the siege.

Yes, doesn't surprise me. Probably your army would have to leave Thrace and re-enter.

That's possible, I threw the game away so I wouldn't know. I guess it's pretty easily reproduceable though...
