War ends inconclusively for no reason

Description​

I am pressing a son's claim to his father's throne. The war ends inconclusively because he... well, you can just see. He is still alive and in power. Note, I clicked the OK button to close the event in the save game file.

Edit: Possibly important detail. I had purchased a truce beforehand or rather accepted one from his offer. I broke it to do this war.
