Let me introduce Watk-Lite I'm working on. It's basically vanilla FtG ported to WatK map.
What's new (or different) compared to vanilla FtG?
- map ... obviously
- a couple of new cultures
- several new countries, most of them in India
- new revolters based on AGCEEP
- new reformation mod, based on Aluns work
- if you want EU2 style reformation, there's an option for that
- just 1419 scenario for start
- new land type: upland, it replaced most mountainous terrains, but a few remaining represents really hard mountain ranges covering most of a province
edited 27-11-09
Major changes in 0.2:
- 1520 scenario available

edited 20-12-09
Major changes in 0.3:
- compatible with 1.1 patch
- forbidden crossing during winter in several mountain ranges and northern areas including: Alps, Caucasus Mts, Carpathian Mts, Himalaya, Scandinavian Mts
- included parts of EU2 Vinland mod as an option
- added whiteman penalty to Africa, it's easier for those countries to remove it anyway
- drastically reduced manpower all over the world
- tweaked AI

Download from www.eu2ftg.com.

Instructions:
Extract both to \For the Glory\Mods\, it's as simple as that. :)
You don't need to download map if you already have it, just copy map dir alone to \For the Glory\Mods\WAtK_Lite\

Suggestions and criticism are welcome :)

Before I jump in FTG, one question: are the agceep events compatible with the map? Or is it only to play vanilla ftg?

AGCEEP for this map is planned, but it's huge work and won't be done anytime soon.

AGCEEP with this map would be insane. I love both so much. It's sometimes hard to play AGCEEP because the map isn't WATK, and it's hard to play WATK because it isnt' AGCEEP :D

I could port just the EU2 version first (ExtraWatk), in fact I consider it.

MyMAP used an old version of AGCEEP.

Thank you very much for your porting effort !

I love WatK map so much I can't adjust playing on vanilla one after so many years....

Nice implementations this : "new land type: upland"

Also did you feature (or will you in future) the No Winter Pass that has been introduced with FTG for the high mountain provinces ?
It seems a very elegant solution IMHO.

Best regards, Amadeus

I'm going to use the feature.

Upland... Why not just 'Hills' then? ;) I'd guess that most real mountain ranges are near to impossible to pass through during winter season anyway... And well, unless you intend to modify the map - the really impassable ranges in watk were under PTI anyway ;).

I like the former word better. :D
If one could explain the subtle difference to me, I might change that.

I know that, but it will be fun to have the feature used in couple of places.

As for Duchy of Athens, I don't know, I usually copy others work and change it to my pleasure. :)

Well, I'm not an Engish native obviously, but at least it conforms better to usually used naming in games (Civilization for example ;)).
Probably that's why I don't like using it. It's everywhere. :)

That's because it's far more commonly used. Highland is probably a better alternative to upland though. I don't really know anybody who uses upland (just compare google searches).

Edit: Actually it seems highland refers to mountains, upland refers to hills.

Very good !

Yes probably "highland" is a better term

Yes that's the point, having provinces which aren't connected in winter-time it will be both historical and interesting gameplay-wise IMHO

For istance, controlling the mains ( and few ) alpine-passes from Italy to France and Swiss was a major economical and militar advantage for Savoy.
Those passes are impassable in winter ( from begin November to end March )
Thus we could/should make connections from Piemonte to Savoy, to Dauphine, to Nice and to Valais like this.
Up today this wasn't implimented in any Paradox game and this was a major drawback that FTG will finally correct !

OT: nice to see you back Kasperus !

Best regards, Amadeus

Version 0.2 is now available, it contains 1520 scenario and some minor fixes.
