WATKABAOI 2.04

Welcome to the thread of WATKABAOI. This mod is from 1337-1914. It includes around 600 nations and many different religions and cultures.

WATKABAOI comes with it's own map with historical provinces and a great detail. The events are very important for WATKABAOI and therefore we have put a great effort into making these great.

Please post if you'd like to help.

This mod uses Enhanced graphics so do not talk about Classic not showing up..

Awesome½!

Very, very nice. :)

Good work, Alex.

Beautiful map - I can't wait to use it!

ps: One suggestion. Perhaps you should use "Niederdeutsch" or "Lower german" instead of "Platt".

The word "Platt" is more colloquial language and there ist also a form of "Platt" spoken in parts of Eastern Westphalia.
just my two cents

We have discussed this already. "Lower german" would mean a partition basing on linguistical facts but that would result in only 2 german cultures which was not enough for cool-toxic and so i had to choose something that wasn't basing on languages but on somewhat like regional identities (or at least something similar) but with having not to much only-two-province-cultures.

I am and always will be a fan of the 2-cultures solution because we can develop low german into german and under the right circumstances also into dutch with time. The events for both are already written and tested. Cool-toxic needs just a bit pressure from you. :D

;)

Hey just looking around at the FtG forums, im concidering buying it. A few comments at your culture SS. Should egyptian arabic and erm arabic arabic be seperate? lol sounds kinda funny i know. And your missing a major culture group for India: Punjabi. Kashmiri doesnt go down that low, its only up north. Punjabi should be above and NE of the rajput culture. Otherwise looks pretty good!

This is the stuff I am requesting! Thank you very much. ;) I will add Punjabi, which I had forgotten from EU2 and about Egyptian Arabic that will be dealt with. Maybe there should be a Syrian culture as well.

I know its a little offtopic but Happy Bday cool-toxic!

Hope you get watkabaoi converted asap so we can start a mp camp:)

As to German culture, meh......first of all, I don't like culture based on linguistics and it is in my experience that splitting a culture opens a pandora's box.

For myself, I'm trying to develop a system of cultures based on the historical claims of the monarchs (which can easily be determined from the historical styles) but in some cases it is not easy because some used archaic styles. For instance, the Kings of Denmark and Sweden used King of the Danes/Swedes, Goths and Wends. This could perhaps be reproduced by making Gothia (Götaland) and Gotland Gothic and Mecklenburg/Holstein/Pomerania Wendish (after all, this was the Wendish circle in the Hanseatic League) but I'm not convinced yet. One other problem is that in some cases, monarchs adopted multitudes of claims (e.g. the monarchs of Spain).

In the case of German, I have kept it as one, even including Dutch (but not Flemish whose provinces were not part of the German Kingdom of the HRE). Dutch emerges as a distinct culture after the Peace of Westphalia (or alternatively at the start of the Dutch Revolt - I have to see that).
