After my last world conquest I saw lots of places I could have gone faster and went back and did it again. This time finishing on July 14, 1942. Im playing normal/aggressive, 1.02 with manpower fix. I didn't wait for MR pact. First the pics, then the description:

So here's how it went:

36
attacked Denmark in the summer

37
attacked Finland in the summer

38
attacked Hungary right after Anschluss, then Checkoslovakia, then Poland, then Norway, then Yugoslavia, then England

39
attacked Netherlands in January, then Belgium, Luxemberg, France in March. Next was Spain in April, and finally SU in June. Greece around Septemberish.

40
Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey at the start of the year, then Vichy, Portugal, and Italy by Julyish. South Africa too. Did a lot of island hopping here to grab key points in Africa and Asia allowing me to annex Netherlands and SU around July/August. Continued into Middle East and Parts jumped from the Portugal's islands to parts of Canada

41
Attacked USA and Mexico, moving down into South America, Pushed through India and those countries all the way to China, annexed USA and Britain, Australia, started attacking China.

42
mopped up South America, Japan, Manchuko and China. Finished in Northern Japan on July 14

My basic idea was to always attack, and I made better use of transports to make my force extremely mobile, rather than march across Africa and I just touched down along the coast and annexed as quickly as possible. I also didn't bother researching any motorized divisions, I dunno why, I suppose it could have helped.

As you can probably see by the naval comparison, I'm not too good with big navies. In the past I've relied mostly on subs but I saw the need for carriers and light cruisers, allbeit a little bit late in the game. Pretty much no air force whatsoever. I built 9 fighters while I was overflowing in IC but never used them. Kept the 2 tacs and 3 ints I started with or got from Austria

If I did it again, I could maybe take off 6 or 7 months by really dominating the sea and moving more troops by transports faster

Good going. :)

there is some possibilities to explain your victory (pick one or several):

1. you are a genius
2. you are using some clever game exploits, some unknown of the forum?
3. the AI has the intelligence of a goldfish
4. you are using the console to cheat

Seeing your army force, you have not a big army either, so how you managed to dispose of SU (how divisions they had at start by the way) in less than one year then managed to invade and conquer USA? Are they not supposed to churns a mass of infantries when they are invaded at least?

I'm not saying that your screens are fake. I'm just wondering how HoI is so easy so that without disadvantages a human Aix player can conquer the planet in mid-42!

if it is that easy increase the difficulty.

what are the panic modes that exists for say USA and URSS? Even if the AI does nothing (and I dont think USA and URSS were passive during conquest), it should be impossible for a German force of say 100 divisions to conquer these countries.

I vote for the goldfish explanation

I was able to annex allies by '41 and annexing SU by mid '42, even not WC but nobody had any army really strong, and I just started attacking historically, so it needs to be the goldfish :D

Why are people incredulous that this is possible on Normal difficulty? I am tempted to put it on even easier settings and see how fast I can do it.

I wonder if it is possible on Very Easy/Coward it is possible to complete WC before the war historical start date? Maybe Very Easy/Furious would be easier even as you wouldn't have to keep DOWing?

im sure goldfish find this thread terribly insulting......... ;)

I am thinking that you should increase the difficulty... It is a decent feat but on very hard, I would be impressed to see it done before 47.

Ah, some inspiration is always welcome. Initiative that's what makes the world go round.

WC under discusion in beta. Hopefully you'll get your ass handed to you in 1.3. :D

Kinda going along with this subject, what would you all say is the minimum difficulty needed for the AI to give you a challenge? I knew the AI was sorta weak before, but it seems that WC happens far too often on the normal setting.

before that the thread degenerate into something ugly, why dont we (especially the original poster) try to explain how it was feasible, so that the AI can be improved?

Check out my link in my signature. In detail, play by play of how I got WC in November, 1942.

Programmers should read the AARs to figure out how to make the game tougher :)
