There are lots of threads on various aspects of colonists transport. I think that alone should tell the undead platypi this is something that is important to players.
We need tubes connecting domes. We need passenger specific shuttles that fly user-created regular routes. We need small emergency O2 stations between domes. Etc.
Then, we need a serious overhaul of colonist AI. I'm at 1800 colonists. I've never had a crisis because I've been way overbuilding redundancy into my various life support aspects. And yet, I have colonists dying from suffocation because they are stupid (and not just the ones with the idiot trait). I have a screenshot of a colonist who suffocated standing right next to a dome.
The AI should not try to run across the map. If a colonist is at less than 25% O2, they should head to the nearest dome just to top off their air before continuing. They should NEVER try to run if they aren't 100% sure they'll have the air to make it. They shouldn't even leave their current home unless they are 100% sure that the new home isn't just a little bit better, but significantly better than their current location.
