There are lots of threads on various aspects of colonists transport. I think that alone should tell the undead platypi this is something that is important to players.

We need tubes connecting domes. We need passenger specific shuttles that fly user-created regular routes. We need small emergency O2 stations between domes. Etc.

Then, we need a serious overhaul of colonist AI. I'm at 1800 colonists. I've never had a crisis because I've been way overbuilding redundancy into my various life support aspects. And yet, I have colonists dying from suffocation because they are stupid (and not just the ones with the idiot trait). I have a screenshot of a colonist who suffocated standing right next to a dome.

The AI should not try to run across the map. If a colonist is at less than 25% O2, they should head to the nearest dome just to top off their air before continuing. They should NEVER try to run if they aren't 100% sure they'll have the air to make it. They shouldn't even leave their current home unless they are 100% sure that the new home isn't just a little bit better, but significantly better than their current location.

im at 3200 people, i just had someone commit suicide in a dome with the following stats:

99 health , 99 sanity, 93 comfort, 87 avg morale

yea that makes a lot of sense...

if you have an AVERAGE of 87 for morale and 99/99/93 for other stats, then clearly the person killing them self had high stats and should not have killed them self

this is simple math if you had someone with super low values it would adjust those numbers

It does depend on the number of colonists you have in the dome, but I believe it is mathematically possible. If everyone else had extremely high stats, the one colonist with low stats was probably the one skewing the numbers down a bit. Well, anyways, I am sure you know better than I do, since you were the one playing the game. Cheers!

I'm hoping for monorails, just because "Martian Monorails" sounds like a great name for a company! :D

I also had an idea of anex domes, a small 1-3 wedge dome that you can attach to a medium or mega dome and that the colonists treat as part of the same dome.

What we should get is roller skates. And then the colonists can skate across the surface of Mars singing, "Starlight Express...you must confess...are you real? Yes or no?"

Eh, you're better off having at least a conventional and monorail in addition to a revamped shuttle system at the very least. Also, the company has to differentiate itself from Planetbase which uses a similar system to what you have described.

Well I'm talking about just 1 or 2 extension domes per main dome, Planet base domes were more like individual rooms and you end up with something resembling a deranged molecular model. I was thinking of something that looks similar to an upgraded hydroponics farm in Stellaris. One big dome with 1-2 little ones attached at the side. you could even make it so the anex has no external connection so you can't use them to chain out from a dome to grab distant resources.
