OK heres a brainstorm session for some weird AARs. MOst of mine tend to fall apart from technical issues (game slows to a crawl, crashes alot), or I get to the point where I have more or less got the game won or achieved everything I can reasonably do as a minor nation. Basiaclly this is a brainstorming thread for original idea for an AAR. Its probably hard to come up with a unique AR so I'll settle for rare ones. Anyway a few ideas.

FRG/DDR ones. I'm currently doing a DDR one. I tried a FRG one but screwed it up technically and I cooked the situation to far in my favour.

I haven't seen any doomsday ones. Armageddon AARs seem to be rare.

Non German/Japanese/UK/USA/USSR AARs post 44/45. Cold war era.
Obscure nations (Sarawak, Tibet etc).

Basically brainstorm one up.

has there ever been a post bitter peace soviet AAR ?

i tried to play it, but the allies were beaten before i was able to declare war and later i'm unable to outproduce germany. they have numerical and qualitative superiority and i have no idea how to beat them.

Belgian Axis with the goal of reforming Greater Burgundy.

Play as Neville Chamberlain. Prevent World War II from occurring, while simultaneously, stopping German aggression (signing the Munich Pact is fine, but any territorial gains Germany makes is just crossing the line).

Declaring war on Germany count as starting World War II.

Doomsday scenario. komintern side. From what I know, no one yet has recorded a Komintern victory in his Komintern AAR

Shanxi~~~
There's never been a Shanxi AAR, and no wonder... You'll be screwed either by Japan when they attack in '38, or NatChi can decide to form the alliance (you don't have anything to say lol), which might give you a chance to survive... Problem is, you won't be getting anything since if you win, every province taken will go to NatChi since it's their cores. There's always the option to *try to* kill NatChi before 1938, but then you'll be too weak to defend against Japan.

So, what are you waiting for? Chose Shanxi!!

A British Navy/Marines/Nav bombers only challenge. Britain abandons the RAF and Army completely and can only build units with a nautical link.

you want a dare? how about a salo republic/dominican republic/sarwak alliance in doomsday, poised for world conquest.
With militia!

I still think stopping war from occuring in the first place is a more weird challenge. HOI is a war game, first and foremost; subverting its premises would be very interesting indeed. It's also very hard...world conquest has been done time and time again, and it's easy in the hands of a capable player.

"Peace in our time"? Can even the best player ensure that?

How are you going to do that. War starting is pretty scripted thing by events them selfs.
