I recently installed the Kaiserreich Mod, and it wasn't working - I was receiving a scenario file error when I attempted to start a game. So I completely uninstalled HOI2 and all the patches, deleted the directory and did a brand new clean install up to HOI2 Doomsday Armageddon 1.3 - and when I start the game, It's STILL Kaiserreich! I checked the short cuts, etc. No issue there. The Kaiserriech files are not even in the HOI2 directory! I went in the folder and looked at various files, and they are the standard vanilla HOI2 Arm 1.3. What gives? How do I get rid of this Kaiserreich "Ghost"? I did a complete clean install for crying out loud!

Did you start the game by clicking its start menu entry or by clicking the HoI2.exe in the folder? You should do the latter and create a desktop shortcut to that file. :)

There's a sticky about how to uninstall HoI2 completely. If you don't follow its suggestions, parts of the game apparantly remain in the registry and thus make Windows think the game is still there, even after uninstalling normally.
