Hi,
I have Stellaris bought from GOG. I installed all but I encounter yet problems yet in the Launcher. It cant do the check and launcher updates at start time (it shows version 2023.9). Neither can I login to my paradox account here. Starting Stellaris works (v3.84 282d). But I am just able to play in single user mode. But in reality I want to play in the LAN with my son.
Both computers have the same problem.
But the weird thing is: when I use my VPN then everything works (does not matter which country).
So in my opinion the reason just can be DNS or Firewall.
I use opnsense as a Firewall and I am not able to bypass it (without very much work). In the firewall both computers have any -> any rules active. Both computers have the windows Firewall inactive. I changed the DNS Server to the google one (8.8.8.8) but still I am facing the problems. When in Stellaris and selecting Multiplayer or coop - it is asking to login to paradox, which leads to an error. Same as connecting in the launcher.

So as with VPN all works like a charm, I assume some problem here, but do not understand where to find it...

Are you using Steam MP or Nakama (ie "cross store") MP? If the latter this is a sporadic problem with some users accessing the Nakama service; a VPN is one workaround.

Others are:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters
Go to Windows Control panel.
Click on Network & Internet.
Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
Click on Change adapter options.
Right-click all network adapters that are not connected to the internet and select the Disable option.

IF however you get this using Steam MP, probably some Steam ports are blocked:
