THE RULES
I. Overview:
The players represent a village where each member has a role that is kept secret. Most of them are just plain, ordinary Villagers, but there are some Werewolves lurking in their midst. The goal of the Villagers is to eliminate all of the Werewolves, while the goal of the Werewolves (and allies) is to achieve 1:1 parity with the villagers (at which point they can openly rise up and overwhelm the Villagers, thereby winning the game). Of course only one pack can remain. After only one pack remains, all baddies (werewolves, all cultists, sorcerers, and sorc. apprentices) are counted towards parity.
The game is split in two sections, Day and Night. Game starts with a NIGHT Deadline.
II. Lynching:
During the Day, the Villagers (including the Werewolves, who have assumed a human form) meet together to decide who is the Werewolf and therefore to be lynched for the greater good of the village. When a player has decided who to vote for, they type vote Player X in bold font and preferabbly at least size 3 (or clear from other text), this to ensure that your GM notices the vote. If they decide to change their vote, they type unvote Player X - vote Player Y.
Abstaining from voting without declaring absence three times during the game will result in an autolynching or more likely, a substitution.
III. Night Events and Orders:
The game begins with a Night, the time when the Werewolves decide among themselves who to eat and special abilities are used. The Werewolves and the "special villagers" submit their choices/orders to the Game Moderator. Any orders not delivered in time will be IGNORED.
Nightly orders are handled in the following order (if the role is present - this may be subject to change):
1. Lover
2. Spy
3. Cultist
4. Sorcerer
5. Seer
6. Priest
7. Hunter
8. Guardian Angel
9. Doctor
10. Changeling
11. Werewolf
If multiple attack orders are sent from the same pack, the last order submitted is the one that counts. Only one werewolf attack takes place during the night (unless no valid hunting order is submitted, in which case there is no werewolf attack at all), no matter how many werewolves or werewolf packs there are.
12. Witness
IV. DEADLINE:
The deadline for ALL NIGHT ORDERS and VOTES is 21:00BST After this, the vote results and the night's events will be posted, along with an RP update.
V. Absence and Substitution:
No new players will be admitted into the game once it has started but it is possible to substitute for dropouts.
VI. Non-Player Participation:
Spectators and Ghosts ("dead" players) may haunt, taunt and flaunt. They may not reveal any secret/inside information nor may they do voting records. Anyone caught doing it risk being banned from later Werewolf games. When making a ghost/spectator comment, please use a non-white colour
VII. Player Actions:
Forged Private Messages (PMs) from players are allowed.
Sharing any PMs from the GM (forged or not) is NOT allowed.
Alliances between players which aren't based on your roles in the game are frowned upon. These alliances which continue from one game to another undermine the whole idea of the game.
Screenshots of PMs from players or the GM are not allowed and anyone caught doing it will be autolynched.
Roles
These roles are guaranteed to be included:Citizen of Raccoon City (Villager) - regular, unafflicted by the T-Virus, Citizens of the city. Have no special powers unless traited.
Citizen with an Ulterior Motive (Wolf) - they may work for Umbrella, they may be covering their own ass, they may be a psychopath, or hell, maybe they just hate your guts. Regardless, they don't want you to survive this ordeal.
Seer - knows more than they're letting on, can scan one player a night to find out if they have an ulterior motive.
The Following roles may or may not be in the game:
Member of the Umbrella BioHazard Counter-Measure Squad (UBCS) (Neutral) - Well armed, well trained mercenaries employed by Umbrella. Allegedly sent to evacuate important employees and civilians. Do not count towards parity for either side, but will win with the goodies if they manage to save themselves, while if the baddies win they die in the firey ruins of the city. Due to their weapons training, and as they answer to nobody other than Umbrella/themselves, if lynched can choose a target to kill with their last ounce of strength (50% chance), while if hunted have a 25% chance of killing a random attacking wolf.
UBCS Supervisor - knows more about their mission that other members of the UBCS, and also has access to an evac chopper. Will win by themselves if they send in a PM asking for Evac on what turns out to be the final day, while they can also request to join up with a wolf pack, where upon they can only win if that pack wins. Only counts towards parity when attached to a pack. Can also access the Umbrella database for information on a particular player (1 superscan which reveals all roles and traits)
Detective (Priest) - can use their sleuthing abilities to check one player each night to see if they are a Seer, Sorceror, or a Cultist. All other roles will come back as villager.
On Umbrella's Payroll (Cultist) - taking backhanders from Umbrella for whatever reason, and so work with the wolfs. If pack-specific, will be upgraded to full-blown wolf upon the death of all other pack wolfs. More detailed details (lolwut) will be giving to the cultists themself.
Conspirator (Sorceror) - can make one scan a night, to determine whether someone is a wolf, or a cultist
Chief Brian Irons - the big cheese, the top man, you don't argue with him, you just do it!
HUNK - a mysterious member of the Umbrella Spec-Ops teams sent in to retrieve work from William Birkin.....
Doctor - picks a player to protect every night. If they are attacked, the doctor has a 50% chance of saving them, where they will then spend the next voting period recovering in a safe room. The doctor cannot protect themselves. The person protected will not learn the name of the doctor, but will remember the name of one of their attackers.
Marvin Branagh (Guardian Angel) - chooses a player to protect every night. If they are attacked, the hunt fails, and the GA becomes infected with the T-Virus from blocking the attack. Cannot protect the same person two nights in a row, and cannot protect themselves.
Traits
These traits may or may not be in the gameT-Virus Infectee - infected with the T-Virus, and will slowly succumb to it's effects. 10% nightly chance of the virus overwhelming them. Once fully zombified, can choose a target to attempt to feast on the flesh of - 25% chance of killing the target, 25% chance of merely infecting them, 25% chance of being shot and killed by an Officer of the RPD and a 25% chance of staggering off into the darkness to find a victim, where you will be ineligible to vote for the rest of the game(due to being a shambling corpse), but will win if any of the baddies win.
T Virus Immune (Blessed) - will not be told of this trait initially. Can survive a hunt, and cannot be infected by a zombie bite.
Dishonest (Cursed) - not entirely trustworthy, and so can be steered wrong by someone with an ulterior motive. Will not be told of this trait initially, but once hunted, will become a wolf.
Officer of the RPD (Hunter) - as an officer of the Raccoon City Police Department, it is your job to protect the citizens of our city. You can do this through arresting someone you feel has an ulterior motive (Only once however), or by using your weapons training to take down threatening monsters.
Carrying a Virus Sample - has a vial of the T-Virus, which he can infect someone with once during the game, turning them into a T-Virus Infectee
Lieutenant (Leader) - can redirect the lynch. Looses this trait if he lynches a goodie. CAN redirect the lynch from themselves
Sargeant (2nd in Command) - same as Lieutenant, but only gains this power once the Leader has lost his own, either through lynching a villager or death.
Schemer (Plotter) - can PM their vote to the GM, will only be revealed at final votecount, can be used more than once.
Apprentice - when scanned, will become that scanners apprentice (assuming they make it through the night). Once claimed, will take over the role of their master upon the masters death.
Last Stand - pulls the pin on a grenade when attacked. 45% chance of taking one of their attackers with them.
Pistol for Self Defence (Brutal) - if lynched, can chose another player to take to the grave with them
Hidden Roles and Traits may be added at GM's discretion, depending on the ability to balance them sufficiently. Also, elements of certain roles and traits may only be revealed to the player possessing them.
For RP/story purposes, the updates will cover a shorter period of time as in the previous game (e.g. a story 'Day' isn't actually a 24hour period, and a 'Night' update might cover events that happened at 3 in the afternoon) and will loosely follow the story line of the various RE games set in Raccoon City in the time period. Of course, this means that anyone who isn't already dead or saved by the evening of October 1st get's wiped off the planet in a flurry of US Army High Explosives
