Friday - bought game
Saturday - Spent ALL day beating Mamelukes in Tutorial (didn't read manual).
Sunday - Started new scenario as Ukranians. I spent 1000+ futilely trying to colonize Kassa just so I could build a refinery in a wine province.

Support Question? Oh yeah, so a Spring thunderstorm rolls in and it's time to save, exit and unplug the PC and I realize that I have no idea how to exit the game. It's not in the menu nor found in the manual. I look in the list of Hot Keys and there is a reference to a "Control Panel" through a F12 keystroke. I hit the F12 key and I get a transparent grey rectangle in the upper left corner of the screen. In the lower left corner of the rectangle, there is a pink blinking square. It takes an Esc keystroke to clear it. Is this where I am supposed to exit? I had to simply turn off the PC as the storm closed in.

I have the NA version running on MS98 (233CPU w 32MbMem). Forgot to look at the version number. BTW, This is one great game. I don't care if Interplay ever DOES come out with Conquest of the New World II.

ok, so tho exit the only way to do it is to hit the menu button in the game and select surrender (after having saved your game of course).

as for the F12, it is the control panel, that's where you enter command lines and use "cheats". To get that purple square out of sight just press ctrl-f12.

have fun!

Hmmm, as someone whose ancestors fought for the South in the Civil War, I don't like to think about the word 'Surrender' much. It just didn't occur to me.
Oh well, as the ethnic Russians say in the Ukraine: 'Spacibo!'
