Assuming that you have no sizable religious minorities in your collection of provinces, should you always set your 'Religion Slider' to maximum for your state religion?

What effect does this really have? The manual gives a cryptic hint on page 33 that 'war fatigue' [Stability drop???] may set in more quickly during a long war if the dominant religion's tolerance is not set highly. Does this mean that you need to set it high to 'keep the home fires burning?'

Further, I understand that a low tolerance for a particular religion affects relations with other states holding that religion, but if your relations are already at or close to -200, does it even matter? Are they then likelier to declare war? As I am playing as a still-tiny Portugal, I don't want to irritate some of the Moslem states that lie near my territories - they hate me enough as it is, and I can't afford a war.

Thanks in advance.

The lower the tolerance level for any religion (including the state religion), the higher the risk for rebellion in a province which adheres to that faith - both in war and peace. I was playing the Moghul Empire in the Fantasia campaign two days ago, and I had a 1-5% risk of rebellion in all my provinces till it occurred to me to check my tolerance levels. Once I put Pagan and Muslim at maximum, the risk of rebellion was zero.
