I've just performed a clean install - twice, just to make sure - and my checksum is JLQC. A German site states that the checksum of 1.3a should be JLQC, as well (see www.paradox-games.de). I'm curious as to why some people are are getting clean installs with a checksum of JLQA and others (including myself) are getting JLQC. Any ideas?
Same here. Clean install of 1.3a. My checksum is JLQC. The exact string in the upper RH corner of the "initial" screen (where you choose Single Player, among other options) is: Hoi2v1.3a(JLQC).
Mine was a very, very clean install BTW; I had to wipe my hard drive completely and return to 'out of the box' initial conditions.
At least one of the core database files must have a slight difference when compared to the reference 1.3a installation, in order to get such a deviation.
And that constitutes a problem, as there are many, many files. Let met check with the knowledgable people around to see if I can find an explanation.
