I can't personally cant decide between a roman legionary and a spartan hoplite, both looked fantastic during the ancient era! In terms of looks, I think that Hellenic hoplites with corinthian helmets are unmatched in that regard, however the design of red and metal looks great in my opinion.

I love the Samurai outfits.

The Rainbow warrior.

Protecting our enviroment is a good battle.

Guan Yu. He's one of my favourite characters in Dynasty Warriors.

The only thing I know that is more glorious than the chivalric knight in shining armor is Michaelangelo's David. That is a man that needed no armor.

+1, the Churchill of our age.

Favourite historical warrior though... I'm gonna be boring and just say any mainline Roman infantry between 300 BC and 476 AD.

They were never the best but they were consistent and disciplined and always got the job done... except for... you know... those times when they didn't get the job done.

Though the fighting quality of the Romans were not to be underestimated their success still have more to do with their ability to breed (just look at the massive losses they regularly suffered, yet there were alway one legion more to be sent into meet grinder) :)

Naaaah... I don't think it was their ability to breed, I think it was their tremendous level of patriotism, or maybe nationalism. If you think about it, pretty much every nation that ever got defeated in a war could have raised another army and kept on fighting. Manpower is basically never the real problem. It's willingness to keep on fighting. The Romans seemed to have a lot of that willingness to keep on fighting to the absolute bitter end (until that point in the empire where they didn't seem to have that anymore).

I personally think Roman legionaries are disqualified for being disciplined soldiers rather than fabulous warriors.

For warriors, I am partial to the Norman Knight, the fabulous adventurer-warrior-plunderer par excellence. But the Aztec Jaguar/Eagle warriors have them beat in terms of concept.

That's a good point... but they weren't that disciplined until around the time of Marius. Before that they were pretty much a militia and they lost as many battles as they won... eventually winning by sending another army to be slaughtered, then another, then another.
